美國職棒大聯盟堪薩斯皇家隊今天在客場迎戰加州天使隊，台灣投手王建民在8局下登板，投1局無失分，也中止了先前連3戰失分，但天使仍以6比1擊敗皇家隊。
皇家此役打擊並未發揮，全場只敲出4支安打，僅在4局上攻下1分；天使則是在1局下就趁著皇家先發投手甘迺迪（Ian Kennedy）不穩之際，靠觸身球、安打與暴投一口氣攻下3分，一路領先。
王建民在8局下登板時，皇家已經以1比6落後，王建民投1局，只用了12球，其中只有5個好球，先以滾地球讓西蒙斯（Andrelton Simmons）出局，接下來雖然保送潘寧頓（Cliff Pennington），但隨後再讓裴瑞茲（Carlos Perez）敲出雙殺打，成功完成任務。
這是王建民本季第5度出賽，也中止了先前連3戰失分。王萬聖節建民本季至今共投6.1局，被敲出9支安打，有3次四壞，另外還有5次三振，失3分，自責分率為4.26。
